The International Youth Conference on Energy (IYCE) had three successful previous editions in 2007 and 2009 in Hungary and 2011 in Leiria, Portugal, organized by the Student Association of Energy (SAE), providing a good opportunity for young experts working in different fields of energy- and power engineering to present their work in an international forum and make contacts for their future. The fourth edition of this conference took place in Hotel Residence Balaton****, in Siófok, Hungary, on the southern shore of Lake Balaton, the largest lake in Central Europe and we can say it was a successful event, too.
The conference included a plenary session, oral sessions and a poster session with the main goal ofoffering the participants a wide platform for discussions and experience exchange in an informal and smooth atmosphere. The conference was technically co-sponsored by IEEE Industry Applications Society, final papers will be available on IEEE Xplore.
On IYCE 2013 the nearly 110 participants from 28 countries of the world have published 91 professional papers. Besides these presentations, we organized a plenary session with renowned invited lecturers such as Mark Halpin (Past president of IEEE IAS), Larry Good (AEE Director International Membership Development) and Sergey A. Boyarkin (Director of Programs, State Corporation "Rosatom").
The meeting was also aimed to give opportunity for making new friendships in a pleasant environment. Therefore, apart from the technical sessions, the social programs made the desired informal interaction between the participants possible and also gave a touristic overview of Hungary.
